Staying through a time that requires you to wait for a positive outcome can seem forever, for example, the result of an interview, a proposal, or a bid. However, in your period of waiting, getting things done yourself to hasten the result is the natural thing to do. The opposite is what Jesus commands us to do – rest and trust that He is working things together for our good.
I have learned by experience that in periods of waiting, resting and receiving timely instructions from God is the best thing to do. I can also tell you that it is not the easiest thing to do, but I also know that God’s grace carries us through that period and builds in us every good thing required to prepare us for that anticipated outcome.
Sometimes, there is daily learning, growing, alignment, feeding from the Word, and stretching out of our comfort zone that we need to do. When we trust Jesus with our lives, the waiting is always worth it.
